Nelson Mandela

Truly an amazing quote that we should all really think about!  How many kids these days do not appreciate the education they are allowed to get?  Too many I fear.

How do you keep your home based business going when you just don't seem to have the energy? And when they is no energy left, don't you also find it hard to be happy? The simplest of tasks seem overwhelming. Even tasks you used to like to do, don't seem to be as much fun any more.

When you don't seem to have any energy it is easy to get off task, it is easy to walk away from the computer and your work and sit in front of the TV or seek out some comfort food, like a big container of ice cream or a chocolate bar. But, these are short term fixes to a long term problem; how do you keep your home based business running, when you run out of energy?

Here are a few tips that can help you build up that energy so that you can keep your business running smoothly.

1. Get enough sleep. Most of us don’t realize the true value that sleep can have on our bodies and minds and the majority of us don’t get enough of it. Make getting enough sleep a top priority.

2. Go for a brisk walk. Studies have found as little as a 10-minute brisk walk is enough to supply a feeling of energy and decreased tension. Exercise is also effective method to get rid of excessive stress, which may cause depression.

3. Take a short nap, many people find them very energizing. They give you a chance to just let go of the stress of the day and just devoting this time entirely to yourself, you are telling yourself that you are worthy.

4. Listen to your favorite upbeat song. Hearing stimulating music gives an instant lift. Sing along with the songs and do it loudly. It’s hard to feel grouchy when you’re singing — and the crazier you sing, the better. Me I am a disco freak when I need to dance around the room without anybody else around of course!

5. Positive thoughts and self talk or affirmations are a necessity; they will give you confidence and will continue to take you through the tough times which will often occur during the day.

6. Spend time with energetic people. People catch the moods of other people, and energy (or lack of energy) is highly contagious.

7. Talk to your friends. You will notice if you are feeling low, and you run into a friend on the street, you walk away feeling much more energetic. Reach out if you need a boost.

8. Finish one of those a nagging chores you have on your to-do list to get a big rush of energy. Unfinished tasks drag us down, so force yourself to tackle one thing that’s nagging you to get a huge rush of energy.

9. Get Dressed. It doesn’t take much time or thought, but a huge problem work at home people have is getting out of bed, getting the coffee and going to work in front of the computer. If you want to feel energized, get in the shower put on some clothes and then go to work, watch how easily this little trick works.

10. Go outside into the sunlight. Light deprivation is one reason why people feel tired. Research suggests that light stimulates brain chemicals that improve mood.

11. Clean up your work space. Working a clean environment makes a huge difference, when I feel like I can’t face the day, I just tidy up my desk, and I perk right up.

12. Drink some coffee! Coffee gets a bad rap, but the fact is, it really does boost alertness, energy, and ability to focus.

These are just 12 easy to follow things you can do to boost your energy level during the day, so that you can keep your home based business running smoothly.
